1986 Concours winner Karl Zalk (SA) - Red TR3A

|
Karl Zalk from South Australia won the Laurie Cousin trophy in his red TR3A. The South Australian Coastal township of Victor Harbour was celebrating, and many streets had been closed for Victor Harbour’s Jubilee 150th celebrations, and associated festivities which included the Victor Harbour Historic Sprint meeting. Victor Harbour was alive with Triumph enthusiasts who were in South Australia for the TSOA National Meeting and the Australian Grand Prix . The Register conducted our concours in the main street, in front of Hotel Victor. It was an impressive display of 19 sidescreen TRs . The concours winners were announced at a BBQ on a beautiful rural property, on the outskirts of Victor Harbour. Laurie Cousin did an excellent job organising the venues and the associated activities.

Just perusing the latest Register Website update and came across the review of the S.A. Victor Harbor Concourse 1986. Photo #3 at the after event BBQ was taken at the farmhouse of Tom Hutchinson at Hindmarsh Valley, #4298 on the Western side of the road to Adelaide. I spoke with Tom today (27 Feb 2021) & he remembers putting up the "TSOA S.A." banner around the verandah on that very occasion. Small world they say… Keep on TRucking Jeff Mount (Tasmania) |
